The renewed Northern Australia Indigenous Reference Group has kicked into gear with its first planning meetings and the appointment of two final members, Ms Gina Castelain (QLD) and Ms Cara Peek (WA).

Renowned Aboriginal artist Ronnie Jordan will host basket weaving workshops to help Aboriginal women across Goulburn-Mulwaree and Crookwell regions isolated by COVID-19 reconnect with culture and community, following a $30,000 investment by the Morrison Government.

In partnership with state and territory governments and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health leaders, the Morrison Government has released a national policy framework to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over the next 10 years.

Applications are now open for the latest grant round of the Morrison Government’s Indigenous Contemporary Music Program, aimed at increasing development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians and bands.

The Joint Council on Closing the Gap has given its in principle agreement to the first two Sector Strengthening Plans, to improve the early childhood care and development sector and the health sector as part of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.
