The remote Aboriginal community of Titjikala south of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory is seeing some changes thanks to the Army Aboriginal Community Assistance Programme (AACAP).

Titjikala is an Aboriginal community around 130km south of Alice Springs and on the Hugh River in the Simpson Desert.

Today I will visit the community of Titjikala in the Northern Territory, as part of this year’s Army Aboriginal Community Assistance Programme (AACAP). I will be accompanied by the Deputy Chief of the Australian Army, Major General Rick Burr, DSC, AM, MVO.
Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Nigel Scullion, has congratulated the Titjikala community on multiple successful projects that are improving life outcomes and living conditions.
An Alcohol Management Plan (AMP) covering the Northern Territory community of Titjikala is the first to be approved by the Australian Government.
