Federal Government funding is going to a programme that will use AFL to improve school attendance in communities in Central Australia.

Centacare Bathurst will receive over $1.2 million dollars during the next 3 years under the Federal Government’s Indigenous Advancement Strategy to deliver projects set to improve the lives of Indigenous people across the Central West.

Today I will visit the community of Titjikala in the Northern Territory, as part of this year’s Army Aboriginal Community Assistance Programme (AACAP). I will be accompanied by the Deputy Chief of the Australian Army, Major General Rick Burr, DSC, AM, MVO.

Four Indigenous organisations across Cape York will receive a total of $1.59 million under the Australian Government’s Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) grant round to improve outcomes for First Australians.
