The Yarpa NSW Indigenous Business and Employment Hub officially launched on Monday 26 October 2020, in its new location in Liverpool NSW, during Indigenous Business month.

Now open and welcoming people in a COVID-safe way, the centre offers support to Indigenous businesses and jobseekers from the greater Sydney region.

The Yarpa Hub is a partnership between the Australian Government and the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council. It is a key initiative under the Australian Government’s 10-year Indigenous Business Sector Strategy. The Hub supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and job seekers to meet the growing demand for Indigenous businesses and services.

Minister Wyatt who attended the launch virtually said 'The Yarpa Hub will provide services to help Indigenous businesses in the Sydney region and broader NSW grow, professionalise and meet the growing demand for their goods and services.'

Chief Executive Officer of the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council, James Christian, said the Yarpa Hub gives business owners unparalleled support and advice.

'Through the Yarpa Hub we will leverage our great relationships with organisations such as Indigenous Business Australia, Supply Nation, Many Rivers, University of New South Wales, and the NSW Small Business Commissioner,' he said.

Indigenous Businesses and Employment Hubs are a one-stop shop that provide business and employment support, training and seminars, networking events and a place to work. They assist Indigenous entrepreneurs and job seekers to seamlessly navigate the ecosystem of support.

The Yarpa Hub will support Indigenous businesses to grow to meet demand, whilst also connecting larger businesses with Indigenous businesses and providing advice to corporates on how to engage Indigenous jobseekers.
