World Ranger Day – a look back over the past year

To celebrate World Ranger Day, Indigenous.gov.au honours the sacrifice and work of Australia’s Indigenous Rangers by looking back at ranger stories from the past year.

The preservation of ecosystems, the protection of at risk species and the maintenance of much of the world’s natural heritage is largely in the hands of men and women known as Rangers.

Every year on the 31 July the world celebrates their courage, sacrifice and important work, often performed at the risk of their own lives.

To honour Australia’s Indigenous Rangers who preserve our unique natural heritage, Indigenous.gov.au looks back at the ranger stories we’ve published in the past year:
