New travel and social restrictions in remote communities

The Australian Government has restricted travel into remote communities to help protect people from Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Residents should stay in their communities and limit unnecessary travel unless it is for essential medical treatment.

Residents who leave and wish to return to their community must self-isolate for 14 days. State and Territory Governments will help people who do not have appropriate arrangements to self-isolate.

Essential service personnel can keep delivering important services and supplies.

For more information on travel restrictions and to access the designated area maps visit the National Indigenous Agency Australia’s pages on COVID-19 in remote communities.
