To celebrate summer, Indigenous.gov.au has put together a playlist which showcases the talent and diversity of Indigenous artists and their music.

Catherine Satour – Set the Tone

'Set the Tone' is about self-love and respect. It is about knowing yourself and your boundaries. As a Southern Arrernte / Mirning woman Catherine has experienced abuse, racism, sexism, double standards and set-backs, but these experiences don't define who she is. Catherine sets her own tone.

Carissa Nyalu – Elements

Yorta Yorta Dja Dja Wurrung singer/songwriter Carissa Nyalu writes about the connection we have with the land and the mother in her song ‘Elements’.

Mau Power – Arrived

Torres Strait Islander Mau Power shares his song ‘Arrived’. In this song, arrived is about the realisation that you have arrived at an important, singular moment in your destiny.

Kututu Wattle Seeds – Waterfall

In their song ‘Waterfall’, Kututu Wattle Seeds ushers people to come home to themselves. It is a song of connecting with self and country, and invites you to sit, to rest and receive. A fusion of repetitive melodies with ancient song and chanting of Pitjantjatjara, the Kututu Wattle Seeds group gives rise to the spirit, remembering each other through the power of collaboration and togetherness.

Kee’ahn – Better Things

Kee’ahn is a Kuku Yalanji, Jirrbal and Badu Island artist. In her song ‘Better Things’ she looks towards the future, and shares all the things she is grateful for, looking towards the future.

Main River Band – Album

Main River Band are Gooniyandi people of the famous Fitzroy Valley. Through ‘Album’ they share their love for country, people and families.
