Woonyoomboo the Night Heron is a creation story produced by the Nyikina community with the Foundation.

For thousands of years, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have been telling stories about the creation of their Country, their ancestors and their enduring links to culture and all things sacred to them.

SharingStories Foundation have launched a series of multi-touch books ‘Stories from Country’ which bring these creation stories to life through new technologies.

Woonyoomboo the Night Heron is a creation story produced by the Nyikina community with the Foundation. The work is bilingual and creatively explores Woonyoomboo’s journey, and the stories and cultural knowledge he left on Nyikina Country for the Nyikina people.
