ORIC Spotlight On: Foundations and the future of strong governance

Jobs, Land and Economy

ANKA is a finalist in the 2022 Indigenous Governance Awards.

Arnhem Northern and Kimberley Artists Aboriginal Corporation (ANKA) is the peak body supporting Aboriginal artists and art centres in the Top End.

It works to keep art, culture and country strong and to support ongoing self-determination for Aboriginal artists and art centres in four regions: Kimberley; Arnhem Land; Tiwi Islands; and Darwin and Katherine.

ANKA has sound governance—both corporate and cultural. Its program for mentoring young people also shows a keen eye to the future. No surprise, then, that ANKA has been recognised as a finalist in the 2022 Indigenous Governance Awards.

Learn more about this capable corporation, and hear from its directors and a youth representative, in this month’s Spotlight On from the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations.
