Since February 2021, Mala’la Health Service Aboriginal Corporation has provided the full spectrum of health and wellbeing services to residents of Maningrida and surrounding homelands.

Through determination, perseverance and strong governance, Mala’la Health Service Aboriginal Corporation has been able to successfully transition the primary healthcare services in Maningrida from government-run health services to Aboriginal community control.

While Mala’la Health Service Aboriginal Corporation has been active in the Maningrida community and surrounding homelands since 1998, this achievement means the community can take control over their own health and honour the Kunibidji name for Maningrida, by naming the health centre: Manayingkarírra Primary Health Care Centre.
