The Australian Government is supporting the development and work of Indigenous musicians through a range of cultural programs.

The Indigenous Culture Support program supports the maintenance and continued development of Indigenous culture at the community level.

The Contemporary Music Touring Program provides funding support to the contemporary music sector for touring activities. The program prioritises regional and remote area touring, which may include the movement of artists to, from or around those regions.

The Australia Council is the key Australian Government agency supporting music and the arts. Here you can find information on small grants for emerging artists, base funding for major performing arts companies, and special initiatives to strengthen the arts sector.

Triple J is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s youth network. It has a program called Unearthed that features loads of new Indigenous music from around the country.

Additionally, the Australian Government supports the National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony and Ball, as well as other NAIDOC Week activities held around Australia.
