Leadership can be a challenge for most people, and for somebody living with disability it can be even harder.
But with help from the right people, the participants of the Leaders for Tomorrow program have discovered anything is possible.
Leaders for Tomorrow is an Australian Government program committed to developing 200 people with disability to be more skilled, confident and active in leadership roles in business, community, government or their chosen area of interest.
In this Newslines Radio program, Torres Strait Islander Leaders for Tomorrow participant Sereako Treloggen shares his story.
Originally from Thursday Island, Sere, as he likes to be known, wants to be a motivational speaker. He was born with cerebral palsy, uses a wheelchair and has difficulty speaking clearly.
But with the help of his aunt and uncle, Gloria and John Jefferies, facilitated communication technology and a dedicated local support network, Sere has been sharing his story at schools and community functions to help raise awareness of people with disability.
