With the relaxing of restrictions, it is even more important to keep a safe distance from people when you go out, practise good hygiene and get tested for COVID-19 as soon as you start to feel unwell.

A Framework has been developed to help remote communities work with states and territories to make decisions about when to lift these restrictions, in a way that will keep people and communities safe. The Framework is available on the Department of Health’s website.

Communities also now have the option of keeping the restrictions in place until September.

State and territory governments will work with communities using this framework as a guide to inform decisions to lift of restrictions in their jurisdiction.
