More than a word - Reconciliation takes action
Find out how you can celebrate National Reconciliation Week.
This year’s Reconciliation Week theme is More than a word. Reconciliation takes action.
The theme reminds all Australians that reconciliation is an action and that sentiments alone are not enough.
Reconciliation Week starts and ends with two of Australia’s greatest actions towards reconciliation: the 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision.
While these were major events in Australia’s reconciliation journey, we should never think reconciliation can only take place through significant events.
No matter where you are, you can be part of an activity that brings about reconciliation. And you don’t have to wait until the week itself.
