Indigenous women in business encouraged to apply for new scholarship
Funding from the Australian Government will support Inspiring Rare Birds to deliver its Entrepreneur Mentorship Program to female business owners with 100 scholarships available.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in business are encouraged to apply for a new mentoring scholarship to develop more skills and become even better entrepreneurs.
The Australian Government has provided funding to organisation ‘Inspiring Rare Birds’ for 100 mentoring scholarships to female business owners in traditionally under-served demographics.
The scholarships will match recipients with high calibre mentors anywhere in Australia to help them grow their business and to help boost the number of female entrepreneurs from Indigenous or culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
The Government is committed to increasing women’s participation in the economy, particularly in the area of economic empowerment for Indigenous women and these scholarships will help women take their business to the next level.
Founder and CEO of Rare Birds Jo Burston said mentoring is a proven form of real-time learning through the transfer of know-how, experience and wisdom.
“Engaging in a mentorship with an experienced mentor is an invaluable experience, where mentees receive qualitative and subjective counselling enabling them to better achieve their goals and better realise their potential.”
Applicants for the scholarships will be assessed by a panel of prominent Australian CEOs, entrepreneurs and civil society leaders. To apply, visit Inspiring Mentoring Scholarships. Applications close 30 July 2017.
