David’s giving families a helping hand to get kids to school every day

Kamilaroi man David Kennedy is a valued helping hand for many families in Walgett in Western NSW.

Kamilaroi man David Kennedy is a valued helping hand for many families in Walgett in Western NSW.

David is a school attendance supervisor, working with local schools to help parents and families make sure their kids have what they need to go to school every day.

“One of the big challenges was for us to show that we're not part of DOCs (Department of Community Services) and we're not going to punish anyone for not going to school. (We’re there) to be that helping hand, and be that friendly face in the morning when you're down,” David said.
