On Country with the Ngurrara Rangers

Jobs, Land and Economy
Five women dressed in work wear hold large gardening implements (shovels) and face the camera. In the background is dried grass, bushes and blue sky.

The theme for NAIDOC Week 2021 is Heal Country and that’s what the Ngurrara Rangers of Western Australia do every day they go to work.

The role of an Indigenous Ranger is to preserve Australia’s Indigenous cultural heritage and our ancient landscape with its unique animals and plant life.

Amongst other responsibilities, rangers remove invasive species, manage sacred sites and Heal Country because in that healing comes spiritual and cultural healing.

Learn about the Ngurrara Rangers, their work and importantly, their desires for their Country.
