Joanne’s winning poster, titled Your Tribe, My Tribe, Our Nation, is based on this year’s NAIDOC theme, Our Languages Matter.

“I have achieved a goal that I wanted to achieve. My Nan would have been so proud of me,” Joanne said.
The second time poster competition entrant is passionate about language and connection to culture and passing that knowledge to the next generation.
“Language means a lot to every culture. If there was one thing I could wish for, it would be to learn my language.” Joanne said.
