Refreshing summer foods are a treat to prepare in the kitchen during the school holidays or as an after school snack.

In this video, Ashlen and her helpers Aiden and Imani to prepare banana smoothies.

There is no need to stick to the ingredients used in the demonstration video, you can use whatever fruit and yoghurt you have.

What you need:

  • blender
  • bowl
  • 2-3 bananas (you can use fresh or frozen banana
  • 1-2 cups of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of yoghurt
  • crushed ice
  • cups to serve

Method:

  1. Break up 2-3 bananas into small pieces and place in a bowl
  2. Add 1-2 cups of milk (depending how thick you would like it)
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of yoghurt to keep it thick
  4. Add crushed ice
  5. Blend until liquid
  6. Pour into cups
  7. Enjoy!
