The Department of Social Services is working to end family, domestic and sexual violence through the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022-2032.

The recently released Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Action Plan 2023-2025 works to address this priority. The Action Plan outlines activities to help address the safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, children and families.

Grants are now open on GrantConnect to support the implementation of the Action Plan.

The grants include:

  • Community-led prevention services, programs and campaigns for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
  • Community-led men’s wellness centres.
  • Family, domestic and sexual violence programs in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCOs).
  • Increasing capacity of crisis accommodation services (by restricted invitation only).

The grants aim to stop domestic violence within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Grant applications close 16 February 2024.
