25 Years of Indigenous Storytelling at Screen Australia

This year, the Indigenous Department of Screen Australia is celebrating its 25th anniversary of bringing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories to our cinemas and into our living rooms.

The Indigenous Department of Screen Australia this year celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Since 1993, it has enabled the telling of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories on the big and small screens. It has supported more than 160 projects with $35 million in funding.

Indigenous.gov.au congratulates Screen Australia for its critical role in bringing the culture, history and imagination of Australia’s first peoples to our cinemas and into our living rooms.
