Yolngu rapper, Baker Boy, wins Artist of the Year at the National Indigenous Music Awards
For the second year in a row, Yolngu rapper wins top prize at the annual National Indigenous Music Awards.
Yolngu rapper, Baker Boy wins three of the 10 awards at the National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMA).
The NT rapper took out the top prize of Artist of the Year along with Song of the Year and Film Clip of the Year for his track Meditjin featuring Jess B.
NIMA posthumously inducted acclaimed songwriter and performer Ngarrindjeri woman Ruby Hunter, into the NIMA Hall of Fame. Archie Rose performed a special tribute to his former partner in life and music.
The night included many virtual special guest appearances including, Jessica Mauboy, Mitch Tambo and Thelma Plum. Midnight Oil gave their first live performance of new song ‘Gadigal Land’ which features Kaleena Briggs, Bunna Lawrie and Dan Sultan.

- Ruby Hunter was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
