Round 2 applications for Commonwealth Scholarships Program for Young Australians are now open

Applications are now open for the Commonwealth Scholarships Program for Young Australians, an Australian Government initiative open to young Indigenous Australians aged 15-24 to study an approved Vocational Education and Training (VET) course from Certificate III level to Advanced Diploma level.

Applications are now open for the Commonwealth Scholarships Program for Young Australians.

Open to young Indigenous Australians aged 15-24 to study an approved Vocational Education and Training (VET) course at Certificate III level to Advanced Diploma level.

Part-time and full-time courses are available in a range of industries identified as in demand in regional Australia, including but not limited to: healthcare, financial services, sports and recreation, science and construction.

Successful applicants will receive up to $5,000 per year in study assistance, as well as up to $3,000 to undertake a paid internship or work placement for 20 business days.

The program will be delivered in:

NSW: Grafton and Gosford

NT: Alice Springs (all the Northern Territory excluding Darwin and the Darwin Outer Suburbs)

QLD: Maryborough and Townsville

SA: Port Pirie

TAS: Burnie

VIC: Shepparton

WA: Wanneroo and Armadale

Please note some of the boundaries for these regions have now been extended. Find out more about these revised boundary regions.

Applications for Round 2 close 5:00pm, 24 July 2020, with a third round expected later in the year.
