Media release - Minister Wyatt
The Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network (NTIBN) has been selected to deliver the Morrison Government’s $10 million Northern Territory Indigenous Business and Employment Hub.
The Northern Territory Hub is the fourth to be delivered under the Government’s ten-year Indigenous Business Sector Strategy, joining a network of established Hubs in Western Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.
Minister for Indigenous Australians, the Hon Ken Wyatt AM, MP, said NTIBN are the perfect fit to deliver tailor-made supports for the burgeoning local business community.
“The Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network are well-connected to businesses across the NT and have a strong understanding of the unique business landscape of the Territory,” Minister Wyatt said.
“Their delivery of this Hub will ensure Indigenous businesses are able to access services and guidance, both in person or online. They will support businesses at all stages, in particular how to scale and grow a business.
“This is huge potential for growth in the NT, especially through the Government’s existing strategies including Our North, Our Future 2021-2026, the National Roadmap for Indigenous Skills, Jobs and Wealth Creation and the Commonwealth Indigenous Procurement Policy. This new Hub will help businesses tap into all those opportunities.”
The Hub will be a “one-stop shop” where Indigenous businesses can explore ideas, access business advice, undertake training, connect with other corporates and tap into Government programs for progressing economic development across Northern Australia.
The main office will be on Larrakia Country (Darwin), with satellite offices across the Territory.
“It will play an important and centralised role in supporting all Territory businesses to connect Indigenous suppliers and job seekers into their supply chains and workforces.
