New milestone for Indigenous Businesses

The Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP) reaches another milestone. Indigenous businesses have won contracts valued at over $3 billion since the policy launched in July 2015.

Since the Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP) launched in July 2015, Indigenous businesses have won contracts valued at over $3 billion.

The minimum mandatory requirements for Indigenous participation has expanded to cover 11 additional industry sectors, bringing the total to 19.  As a result, even more large businesses, across more industries, will be looking to engage Indigenous businesses and job seekers.

The Indigenous Procurement Policy Guide has been updated to show the new sectors and provides additional advice on IPP rules and policy settings.

New guidance material has also been released to support implementation of the expanded IPP.
