Inquiry into the Native Title Legislation Amendment Bill 2019 Opportunities to speak to the committee
The Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee would like to hear from people about their experiences of the native title system in Western Australia.

The Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee would like to hear from people about their experiences of the native title system in Western Australia. The committee is interested to hear from native title holders, native title representative bodies, Prescribed Body Corporates (PBCs) and other interested parties.
The committee is examining the Native Title Legislation Amendment Bill 2019. The bill proposes changes intended to better support the resolution of native title claims and agreement-making around the use of native title land and to promote the autonomy of native title groups in decisions about their land.
The committee is due to report on its inquiry on 16 April 2020.

- Perth – 10 March 2020
- Kalgoorlie – 11 March 2020
- Warburton – 11 March 2020
- Broome – 12 March 2020
- Karratha – 13 March 2020

- a telephone number and email address so that we can contact you; and
- the hearing location at which you would like to speak to the committee.
What happens next
One of the committee's staff will contact you to discuss your expression of interest and to provide further information about what to expect on the day of the hearing.
Please keep in mind that time for hearings is limited and the committee may not be able to hear from everyone who has registered their interest to speak.
If all of the time available at the hearing you would like to attend has been allocated, the committee's staff will contact you to let you know this. You can still attend the hearing and listen to what is being said.
