Consultation now open CATSI Amendment Bill Exposure Draft

Provide your input on draft changes to the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (CATSI Act) – the law that assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups to form corporations.

An exposure draft (draft legislation) proposing changes to the CATSI Act is now available for feedback.

There are resources available to help you read and understand the draft legislation including a guide and fact sheets. 

The proposed changes reflect recommendations from the CATSI Act Review Final Report published in February 2021 following the comprehensive review undertaken in 2019-2020.

Stakeholders can provide feedback on those parts of the legislation they support and those parts that concern them in terms of practicality and implementation. Feedback is also welcomed on whether the legislation is clear, easy to understand and readable.
