Are you ready to find Your Career?
YourCareer.gov.au and the School Leavers Information Kit are just some of the resources available from the National Careers Institute.
There has never been a more important time to have access to up-to-date and accurate information about your career options now, and into the future.
The National Careers Institute (NCI) provides people of all ages and stages access to information about their education, training and employment options.
Launched in October 2020, Your Career uses world leading labour market intelligence from the National Skills Commission to help people plan, navigate and manage their career.
Visitors to Your Career can interact with a range of tools to help them take next step in their career – whether it is starting out, making a change, or returning to the workforce.
Some of the tools available on Your Career, include:
- Your Future Career, which helps you explore what occupations are aligned to your interests
- Your Options Now, which helps you find occupations you can pursue now, including with some short-term study or training.
To ensure school leavers are supported through their transition from finishing school to work - and all things in between – the NCI has also introduced the School Leavers Information Kit and the School Leavers Information Service (1800 CAREER).
Both are part of a targeted support package for young people to help them tackle the uncertainty around leaving school and choosing the right career pathway.
The School Leavers Information Service (1800 CAREER) provides school leavers with free support to navigate the School Leavers Information Kit and the Your Career website. Call 1800 CAREER (1800 227 337) or text (0429 009 435) to access the service.
Students may also be eligible for a free personalised career guidance session with a qualified career practitioner depending on need. The service is open from 9am to 9pm (in your local area) Monday to Friday.
The Kit, and information about the Service, can be found on the School Leavers Support page of the Your Career website.
