Culture and Capability Grants and Funding
On a pink and purple background, the words UK AU United Kingdom / Australia 2021 2022 appear.

Australia-based arts organisations and individuals are invited to submit project proposals for inclusion in the UK|Australia Season 2021-22. Australian applications for the Season have been extended until Monday 5 October 2020.

The UK│Australia Season 2021-22 is a joint initiative by the British Council and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to celebrate and strengthen creative ties between the two countries.

Under the theme ‘Who are we now?’ and particularly in light of the COVID pandemic, the Season will reflect on both nations’ shared history and culture. The Season will explore the UK and Australia’s current relationship, and imagine our future by bringing together artists, universities, and civil society leaders from both countries in a diverse and inclusive way.

Applications from Australian arts organisations and individual artists working across all art forms, including Indigenous arts, are welcome.

Project proposals do not have to be limited to touring works. For example, projects can include residencies, a festival focus, symposia, workshops, site specific work, digital work, exhibitions and broadcast.

The Australian program will take place in the UK from August to November 2021, and the UK program in Australia from September 2021 to March 2022.
