The AFP Directions Program (the Program) is an integrated employment and development program specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The Program provides participants with the opportunity to gain employment with Australia’s leading law enforcement organisation. Participants will undertake a nationally recognised qualification, rotate through a variety of business areas and contribute to the rapidly evolving work of the AFP.
Participants will undertake the program over 12 months, commencing with the AFP in February 2021 at the AFP Band 2.1 classification. Participants will successfully complete the Program in February 2022 and advance to an AFP Band 3 classification.
While no formal qualifications are required, applicants will need to have a strong interest working within a law enforcement agency, a sound level of computer skills, be an effective communicator, enjoy working as part of a team and demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills.
With new participants relocating to Canberra, we understand that it can be a huge step moving away from family, friends and community. A wide range of support is available from the Unsworn Programs Team, the MION Network, Mentors and Buddies.
If you know of someone who might be interested in this opportunity, please refer them to the Directions Program web page where they can find all the information they need to know. Any questions, please contact Unsworn Programs.
Closing date: Sunday 4 October
