ABC Heywire Trailblazers program now open

Are you, or do you know, a young person up to something great in regional Australia? ABC Heywire Trailblazers supports young regional change makers to reach their goals.

Trailblazers is an exciting initiative from ABC Heywire to support young regional changemakers.  

A cohort of young changemakers is selected each year, based on the work they are doing to strengthen their communities. 

Past Trailblazers have been working on issues including strengthening Indigenous culture, youth mental health, sustainable agriculture and supporting remote entrepreneurs.  

Who can apply to be a Trailblazer:

Individuals or groups of up to three people, who are: 

  • Aged 18-28 (as of March 2022) 
  • Working on an innovative project aimed at strengthening regional Australia 
  • Committed to their community and regional Australia 

What do Trailblazers receive? 

Successful applicants receive an incredible package of support, including; having their story told on the ABC; exclusive access to grants from the Trailblazer Development Fund; and mentoring and networking opportunities.  

Trailblazers receive storytelling training, as well as media and networking opportunities aimed at amplifying the reach and impact of their projects.
